9th Annual Women Swimmin' for Hospicare

We are pleased to announce that the 9th annual Women Swimmin' for Hospicare will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Ithaca Yacht Club.

To ensure that the event remains safe and fun for all, there will be no "rain date" for the swim. This is because we rely on the help of more than 200 volunteers and many other important support services and are unable to ensure full participation of all the volunteers and services vital to the safety of the event on two consecutive days.

Women Swimmin' is a community swim (not a race!) across Cayuga Lake for women ages 18 and over. Together we raise funds which will go directly to support patient and family services here in Tompkins County. Thank you so much for your support!

8th Annual Women Swimmin' for Hospicare

We did it!! And we have the photos to prove it!

Women Swimmin' for Hospicare 2011 was a great success! The weather was just about perfect and the water was warm. We had 314 swimmers and 170 boaters in the water and about 1000 volunteers and supporters on the shore. Together we exceeded our fundraising goal by raising $323,411 to support Hospicare's mission to provide care and support to our patients and their families and friends.

We are profoundly grateful for the incredible generosity of all those who participated in myriad ways. Thank you to everyone who swam, boated, donated, ate bagels, provided bagels, bought a raffle ticket, and just generally supported the event!

Special thanks to the Ithaca Yacht Club for hosting the event; to Ithaca Bakery/Collegetown Bagels for generously providing breakfast to all of our swimmers and boaters, as well as spectators, volunteers, and staff; and to all of our corporate sponsors and Cayuga Radio Group for covering event expenses so 100% of funds raised by swimmers, boaters, and other supporters can go toward providing patient care.
