Swim Day Information for Guests

WEATHER

A decision to cancel will be made by 5:00 am. The rain date is Sunday, August 9.

PARKING

Due to the need to reserve the limited number of parking spots at the Ithaca Yacht Club (IYC) for boaters (who will be transporting their kayaks/canoes early in the morning), Women Swimmin' guests/supporters are asked to park at Union Fields in Cass Park. Shuttle buses will be ferrying folks back and forth to the IYC throughout the morning.

Swimmers can be dropped off directly at the IYC, with cars continuing back to Union Fields to park.

There may be some additional parking spaces available in the lower parking lot at the Glenwood Pines Restaurant. If parking there, please be mindful of traffic as you walk down the hill to the IYC.

To Union Fields in Cass Park (parking area will have signs)

From the northeast: take 13 south to 89 north
From the southeast: take 96B north to downtown Ithaca, turn left at Buffalo St. and turn right on 89 north
From the east: take 79 west to 13 north and turn left on Buffalo St. to 89 north
From the southwest: take 34, 96 or 13 north to 89 north
From the northwest: take 89 north
From the west: take 79 east to 89 north

Cass Park is 0.7 miles north on 89 from the bridge over the Cayuga Lake inlet. Note that 13 separates into two roads, one way north and one way south, within the Ithaca City limits.

TIMELINE FOR THE MORNING OF THE SWIM

6:00 am       First-wave swimmers park at Union Fields at Cass Park
6:15 am       Swimmers gather for check-in, pre-swim briefing at IYC
6:25 am       First-wave swimmers board boats

7:00 am       Second-wave swimmers park at Union Fields at Cass Park
7:15 am       Swimmers gather for check-in, pre-swim briefing at IYC
7:25 am       Second-wave swimmers board boats

7:30 -
10:30 am       Swimmers arrive at IYC following their swim

BREAKFAST

Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am and can be purchased by guests for a suggested donation of $5.

SILENT AUCTION

To add to the excitement of this year's swimming event, we will be hosting a silent auction featuring special themed baskets with items donated donated by individuals and businesses from the Finger Lakes region.

The silent auction tent will be open from 7:00 am until 10:30 am.

Offline Donations

If a donation is made in your name offline (i.e. a check is sent to Hospicare), it will NOT appear on your Personal Page. If you would like to account for these donations in your overall donation total, login to your account and add this information in the "Offline Donation Total" box. Hospicare is happy to provide a donation report upon request. Note: Each swimmer will receive her entire printout of donors at swimmer registration on August 7, from 2-4 pm.
